Code of Welfare

The Code of Welfare (Layer Hens) 2012 (updated 2018) is the guiding document for all commercial egg farmers in New Zealand.

It has been specifically reviewed and recommended by the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC), a group of welfare experts who provide independent advice to the Ministry for Primary Industries.
